Imagine if your local church or ministry was mostly full of people from dozens of nations that didn't stay very long - six months, four months... a day! What if you needed to provide spiritual nourishment and meet other needs for people that you would possibly never see again? If your church or ministry was responsible for providing worship services, Bible studies, fellowship opportunities and enrichment for people you would not retain, would your church or ministry take that step of faith, that burden and that responsibility? What if every six months you planted a church with a very small number of people you knew and dozens you didn't, would you continue doing this? Would you plan and develop opportunities for workers and residents and visitors that may use your resources, but never give back in service or in finances?
Well, this is how the ministries of the Mackinac island Bible Church operate year after year! We are a ministry built on faith - every season. Though MIBC is a year-round, independent ministry we receive no backing from any organization, stepping out each year to provide a Gospel-centered, "Mission Outpost" on Mackinac Island. Our weekly services are often at late hours and "inconvenient" times to minister to the hard-working and transient seasonal workforce on the island. No matter where you go, you need a fellowship of Believers to walk alongside people to help them on their spiritual journey with Jesus Christ as Lord. There is no possible explanation, besides the grace of Almighty God that MIBC exists, but we roll up our sleeves to reach others for the cause of Jesus Christ and to make Him known to all that come to our shores!
